Anthropic's official account @claudeai unveiled academy.claude.com with "Claude Academy is now live," early on August 21, 2026 KST (August 20 US time). When we visit directly, the page actually opens, and we can see the Claude.ai, Cowork, Code, Tag, and Platform tracks along with an AI Fluency course.
August 20: academy.claude.com goes live
The official tweet said, "Whether you're just figuring out what AI is or you use Claude every day, there's a learning path for your level," adding that "the courses and tutorials are free and open to anyone." The next tweet links to a claude.com blog post explaining how Anthropic approaches AI teaching and learning. CryptoBriefing reported that the launch happened on Thursday (August 20).
It's free, but we don't see a certificate
The tweet stated plainly that it's "free and open to anyone." However, whether the academy.claude.com site itself issues completion certificates or has a separate paid track isn't confirmed. If you're on a team that wants to use it directly as internal training material, it's safer to check each course's curriculum and update cadence yourself before starting.
The existing Skilljar courses remain
Anthropic has long run "Anthropic Courses" at anthropic.skilljar.com. That site is still running as is, with more than 20 courses, and a new "Anthropic Academy" link now appears at the top. Whether the two sites will be fully merged or kept side by side hasn't been clearly laid out in an official announcement. For now, academy.claude.com looks like the new entry point, with the Skilljar courses kept for existing learners.
